Kalyn and Vince
June 2, 2007

Wedding: St Pius X Parish, Wauwatosa
Reception: The Historic Astor Hotel, Milwaukee

I was trying to figure out how old Kalyn was when I first met her, and as near as I can figure she was about 10. She is the youngest child of the woman who was both of my boy's first daycare teacher. And from time to time Kalyn would come into the daycare center and play with the kids, going on to babysit some of them. And about 5...or was it 6? years ago I photographed Kalyn's brother's wedding. So when I got a call from her mom that Kalyn was getting married I had one of "those" moments. Kalyn? Wasn't she like 12? Uh, no, check it Kim, your oldest is 14, so no....Kalyn could not be 12. And Kalyn came to meet with me and she was this beautiful, poised young woman and Vince? Vince ain't nothing but a whole lot of fun, with a teddy bear lining. This, combined with the fact that I got to shoot at my home parish with the most awesome Father Bob Marsicek was a real treat.

And to my favorite bridesmaid, and you know who you are, if you you watch Kalyn and Vince's slide show and still think that the hands over the bouquet and the bride being held sideways is a "must have" photo...well, then I give up. But you are still a hell of a lot of fun, and let me give you some names of some photographers that will show up to your wedding in a powder blue tux and make you peek around the tree with the bouquets on your train while your mother weeps in silhouette in the back round.

Big hugs and congratulations!

Wedding: Three Holy Woman, Milwaukee's East Side
Reception: The Rotunda Waukesha

In the time I got to know Lisa and Ed, I discovered two things. First, Lisa is unbelievably organized. So organized that when I did a wedding a few weeks later with the same caterer that Ed and Lisa used, the fabulous Chef Jack's
the caterer recognized me as the photographer from Ed and Lisa's wedding and we talked about how Lisa should have a career in wedding planning should she ever want to leave banking. Secondly, never jokingly tell Ed that you would like Ramen Noodles and HoHo's for your meal on your meal reply card because when you get to the reception, guess what will be at your place setting? Ya gotta love Eddie!

Congratulations!

Kristen and David's Reception
May 12, 2007

Reception at The Summit Restaurant, Racine

Kristen and David got married last October in the beautiful Napa Valley with just a few people present, so when they came home they wanted to have a reception with their friends and family in attendance. And what a turn out they had! Over 200 people and a big 12 piece band turned it into quite a party.

Congratulations!

Wedding and Reception at Davian's

Three years ago I photographed Dawn's daughter's wedding, so I was thrilled to get the call that Dawn was engaged and she wanted me to photograph her wedding. I can say that this was a first for me, and it was really fun to get to see people from their family again.

Congratuations!
