Happy July! Er....August.....

I can't believe the summer is closing on me already...it seems like wedding season just started and fall is around the corner. As you can imagine, I'm knee deep in it right now, and though I'd love to update this blog more often, I've resolved to at least get to it once a month. This wedding season is my busiest to date, I now have 22 consecutive week ends of weddings!! Whoo!!! So far things are going great, and I am honored to be able to photograph each and every wedding I have. Production is a bit slower than I would like, in a perfect world I'd have each wedding editited and online in 2-3 weeks, but with that whole "Life balance" thing I try to keep up with it's closer to 4-5 weeks right now.So be patient, gentle reader! Below you'll find a bunch of engagement sittings, portrait sessions, and the weddings I am caught up with to date.

Hope you all are enjoying your summer!

Kristy and Alvar

June 23, 2007, Door County Wisconsin
Wedding: Sister Bay Moravian Church
Reception: Alexander's, Fish Creek

Door County...ahhhh. What a gorgeous place to have a wedding! Kristy is from Door County originally, something that surprised me when we first met. I guess I've always seen Door County as kind of like the Wisconsin Dells, that people go there but no one really lives there! Alvar's family is from Canada and so there were a lot of people who traveled a great distance to watch these two get married. Wisconsin is not exactly known for it's gorgeous weather, but I swear Kristy and Alvar had a line to the Big Guy for the weather they had on their wedding day...mid 70's no humidity and how is it even possible to be outside for a reception in Door County and I got nary a mosquito bite? Whatever the case, check out the slide show, I love the song that Kristy and Alvar chose for it (it was also their first dance) . Congratulations Kristy and Alvar, and best of luck with your move to the east coast!

Better when they are together...

Heather and Randy (WOOT!)
June 16, 2007
Wedding at St Josphat Basilica, Milwaukee WI
Reception The Coast Restaurant, Milwaukee WI

Heather and I bonded from the very first email. Upon finding out I was available for her wedding date she emailed me back and said "WOOT!!! Serious WOOT!" I laughed out loud because I am very fond of saying "Woot" much to the dismay of my children. She and Randy are two of the most amazingly laid back, funny and genuinely nice people I have met. They were even willing to let me kidnap them at the end of the wedding for some impromptu pictures at the beach in that big old dress of Heathers, that was really saying something. If you think the dress is big, check out the slide show where I guarantee you'll exclaim "Holy Veil, Batman!" And as for the slide show song...let's just say it fits them.

Lisa and Alvaro
June 10 2007
Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Wedding and reception at Villa Filomena

What an awesome couple, what a fun wedding and whooooooo the salsa dancing!! When I first met Lisa and Al and they described to me what their hopes for their wedding day were they said they wanted it to be simple, filled with loved ones and full of fun. I'd say their day was just that because it was literally impossible to take a photo of Lisa where she wasn't laughing or positively glowing with happiness. Maybe it was the kick-ass deal she got on her wedding gown, maybe it was her dapper groom, or maybe because it was picture perfect weather she and Al had, it was a joy to photograph this wedding from start to finish, to see two people who found each other and had exactly the kind of wedding they wanted.

Check out the slide show!
