Vegas, Baby!

It's that time of year again...when wedding and portrait photographers from all over the world make their weary pilgrimage to the oasis in the dessert for the Wedding and Portrait Photographers International convention (WPPI to those of us in the know) This is one of my favorite trade show/seminar places to go. I get to hobnob with some of the most talented people in this business, drink green beer and participate in the yearly Nikon vs Canon debate. I ooh and ah over the latest in albums, salivate at lenses that cost more than my first car and get my batteries recharged for the wedding season. I'll be out of the studio from March 16-21, but will be accessible by email!

Those Green Shoes are going the extra mile for me.....

I've just gotten the results of the WPJA 4th Quarter photo contest, and guess which photo placed 3rd in "Details"? Yep, it's Kate's bridesmaids feet ag
ain! I"ll add another WPJA trophy to my shelf thanks to those pretty green shoes :) I was also pleased to see I was featured on a wedding coordinators blog called Blush Events Check it out!

JUDGES COMMENTS: It is amazing the photographer was able to recognize and capture the matching color of the bride’s mate’s shoes and the grass and compose this image so well. The only thing I would have done is crop the left brides maid out of the picture because her feet are cut out and the hand of the brides mate as well. It would have made the image much stronger.

This is so cool......

I just got an email from mywedding.com, a site that I advertise on. They are offering wedding websites for FREE :) I checked out the templates and such, and even if you are not geek inclined you can create a very cool site for your friends and family to view. The features include:
~Invitations that match your wedding website
~Post your favorite music for visitors to play
~Create Photo galleries
~Blog about your wedding day
~Online RSVP and guest book
~Share important wedding information
~Create an online registry
~Send group emails and wedding updates to guests

Here's the link to the free sites

If you make a site, please send me an email so I can bookmark it. I love seeing how the wedding planning is going along!
